BACKGROUND

onnect5 has developed the Brigade Inventory Management System (BIMS) to meet the needs of a district office of the NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS). The application is designed to manage all inventory functions including stocktake, ordering, receipt, issues and returns.

BIMS keeps an accurate record of all equipment received and issued to individual brigades and members within their district.

The application has been developed with the assistance of the Warringah/Pittwater and Blue Mountains RFS District offices in NSW, Australia, with the software successfully operating at Warringah/Pittwater for over 8 months.
Integration with Firezone:
      > members list is updated from Firezone
      > catalogue pricing and items updated from Catalogue CD

Consistent item naming:
      > uses Catalogue item names and item id's

Inventory Management:
      > control of items issued
      > streamlined ordering process (incl annual requisition)
      > back order monitoring

Externally procured items not on the Catalogue CD can be recorded

Multiple Issue Points, accommodates multiple stores and transfers

Records details and acknowledgement of equipment issued to members

Analysis of returns of faulty and damaged Items

Bulk issue of standard equipment to a new vehicle

Minimum quantity re-order facility

Wide range of reports including stock valuation
